Ariel Community Academy hosted an assembly with the Chicago Bulls on Friday afternoon with more than 600 students from Ariel Community Academy to celebrate the school completing the Illinois Standards Achievement Tests (ISAT) and to tip-off their spring break.
The assembly included remarks from Scottie Pippen, Stacey King and Sidney Green, as well as appearances from Derrick Rose, Marco Belinelli, Daequan Cook, Benny the Bull and the Luvabulls. The Ariel Community Academy drumline and cheerleading squad also performed.
As a special treat, the Bulls raffled off tickets to the team’s game on Tuesday, April 9 versus the Toronto Raptors for some lucky students. All students received a McDonald’s certificate for a free smoothie, chicken sandwich, fish McBites, fruit and maple oatmeal or premium salad courtesy of Ron Lofton of Lofton & Lofton Management, Inc.

The theme for Ariel’s Winter Assembly was “Mo Town”. Celebrated in conjunction with spirit week and a classroom door decoration contest, Mo Town feeling was in the air at Ariel. The assembly was attended by many parents, and students of all ages took part in the program.

The counselling team organized a very successful high school fair at Ariel. Many schools were present to talk to parents and students to help them decide on their choice of high school.

Ariel Community Academy graduated the class of 2011 on June 13th, 2011. The ceremony was attended by family and loved ones. The keynote speaker for this important occasion was the new 4th ward Alderman, Mr. Will Burns.

This will mark our second year of participation in Special Olympics and our first year in Cubs Care Baseball. Our students always look forward to all the events. Thank you all for your support!

AAR Corp. arranged for our 8th grade class to go to the Aviation Technology Center located within the Indianapolis International Airport. Students got a chance to explore the planes and also discuss the different aviation related careers that are available.
